March 2019 Reading List

So the Ides of March brought several outstanding new books.  I was pleasantly surprised by Ten Caesars..I don't normally read a lot of ancient history, but this was one of the books I selected for reviewing on the New York Journal of Books, and it was darn good.

Day of the Rangers was awesome, last year was the 25th Anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu, or Black Hawk Down as it is popularly known, and this book fills in many of the details the original Black Hawk Down did not have.

Finally The First Wave was an excellent preview copy of one of the many books on the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.  It trods some well worn ground as well as offering some lesser known tale of the first group of Allied forces to invade Normandy and their German adversaries.  Really good.
